Consumer Segment Strategic Finance Officer (Director - Finance Business Partners)--HYBRID

Position Summary

The Consumer Segment Strategic Finance Officer provides financial management leadership and strategic decision support to Consumer Segment and Line of Business leadership. Serving as a trusted financial advisor and business partner, this role provides insight to support short- and long-term business strategies, evaluates financial performance, and identifies opportunities to improve profitability and business outcomes. Responsibilities include financial analysis and decision support, planning and forecasting, incentive plan support, and financial reporting.

Sub-Family Definition

General Finance is responsible for supporting the organization’s overall financial management, analysis, and planning activities to ensure accurate reporting, strong fiscal stewardship, and effective decision-making. Activities may include:

• Preparing and reviewing financial statements
• Performing variance and trend analyses
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Maintaining financial controls and documentation
• Partnering with business units to interpret financial results
• Monitoring performance against targets
• Identifying areas for improvement
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and internal policies

Career Specialization Definition

Finance Business Partners advise and support the business in areas related to future state financial performance. Activities may include:

• Finance consulting and coaching (e.g., interpreting financial results and measures in the context of business operations)
• Providing forward looking financial insight on market conditions, competitors, and alternative business scenarios
• Improving the quality of internal and external financial data to drive business decision making and performance
• Other duties as assigned

Position Accountabilities

• Provides strategic financial leadership and decision support to Consumer Segment and Line of Business leadership, including performance evaluation, risk identification, and recommendations to optimize financial and business outcomes.
• Leads financial planning and forecasting activities, identifying risks and opportunities and providing insights that inform tactical and strategic decision-making.
• Analyzes financial results and underlying business drivers, developing recommendations related to profitability, productivity, efficiency, and overall business performance.
• Oversees business unit financial reporting and partners with Corporate Finance teams to support effective financial models, reporting, and decision-support capabilities.
• Serves as a trusted financial partner to senior business leaders and provides leadership and direction to the assigned finance team.

Manages a department or small unit that includes multiple teams led by Managers and/or Team Leaders. Responsibilities typically include:

• Ownership of short to mid-term (1-3 years) execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of the Department.
• Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis.
• Requires ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.

Knowledge & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Typically requires mastery level knowledge and skills within assigned discipline, with broad understanding of areas within the job function, generally gained through experience
• Typically requires 10+ years prior leadership experience, and demonstrates broad management and leadership knowledge to lead multiple job areas
• Broad financial management background with experience in financial analysis, planning, forecasting, and strategic decision support.
• Financial services industry experience and knowledge; relevant banking and finance experience strongly preferred.
• Strong strategic and financial acumen with demonstrated ability to communicate financial insights and influence senior and executive-level business leaders.
• MBA and/or CPA preferred.
