About the Role
As a Compliance Analyst, you'll serve as a key partner in supporting Kinsale's regulatory and compliance functions across property casualty insurance. You'll monitor an ever-changing regulatory environment, maintain our authority to do business across all jurisdictions, and work closely with internal teams and state regulators to ensure the company operates in full compliance. This role is onsite at our corporate headquarters in Richmond, VA, and offers the opportunity to grow alongside experienced legal and compliance leaders in a dynamic, high-performing organization.

What You'll Do
• Maintaining authority to do business in all states and assisting with necessary regulatory filings.
• Monitoring legal, regulatory, and legislative changes using legal databases, trade organization websites, state department of insurance resources, and other research tools.
• Communicating regulatory guidance clearly and effectively to company staff and implementing required procedural changes.
• Managing the schedule of annual and periodic reports and eligibility filings to state insurance departments, ensuring timely submission.
• Coordinating the collection and reporting of surplus lines tax allocation information from brokers.
• Responding to Department of Insurance complaints and inquiries, as well as other compliance-related consumer concerns.
• Ensuring that property casualty forms and endorsements meet applicable regulatory requirements in content, design, and implementation.
• Participating in special projects and contributing to broader compliance and operational initiatives as needed.
What You Bring
• Bachelor's degree required; insurance industry coursework or professional development designations are a plus.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry, preferably in legal or compliance operations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey regulatory guidance to colleagues at all levels and interact professionally with state regulators.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and research ability.
• Highly organized with a demonstrated ability to track deadlines and manage multiple filing obligations simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Surplus lines experience is desirable.
