As a CAS Supervisor, you'll serve as a key leader within the CAS department, performing advanced bookkeeping and client advisory services while providing day-to-day guidance and oversight to the team. You'll coordinate workflow, review work for quality, and mentor staff while serving as a bridge between the Senior Bookkeepers and the CAS Manager. This role helps ensure accurate, timely client service while promoting consistency, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the department.

What You’ll Do
As a CAS Supervisor, you’ll take ownership of your work and contribute directly to the success of our clients and our team. Your responsibilities will include:
Technical & Client Work
- Perform advanced bookkeeping for a variety of clients, including reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare financial statements in compliance with firm standards.
- Process payroll, payroll tax filings, and related compliance work.
- Provide client support including answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and assisting with accounting software.
Workflow & Oversight
- Coordinate with CAS Manager to assign and prioritize work across the team.
- Monitor workflow and ensure deadlines are met.
- Review bookkeeping work for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Assist in resolving workflow bottlenecks and communicating priorities to staff.
Team Support & Development
- Provide guidance, training, and informal mentoring to bookkeepers and senior bookkeepers.
- Assist with onboarding new staff and helping them learn firm processes and systems.
- Serve as a resource for staff questions and technical support.
Process & Collaboration
- Collaborate with tax staff to ensure books are completed timely for tax preparation.
- Participate in process improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Maintain accurate documentation and support standardization of procedures.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking candidates who bring both skill and heart to their work. You’ll be a strong fit if you have:
- Strong bookkeeping experience (typically 4-6+ years).
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and willingness to learn new software.
- Experience with payroll processing and related compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to guide or support other staff.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
- Effective communication skills with clients and team members.
- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies, including AI-powered tools.
- Willingness to work overtime during peak tax season.
- Willingness to collaborate across departments and locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- Experience reviewing or overseeing bookkeeping work.
- Advanced QuickBooks knowledge.
- Experience training or mentoring staff.
- Familiarity with tax workflows and how CAS work supports tax preparation.
