Job Summary:
Meneses Law, an Immigration Law firm, is seeking a Benefits and Payroll Specialist who plays a vital role within the HR Department. This position demands an individual who possesses a strong understanding of payroll practices, familiarity with setting up new jurisdictions, multi-state compliance, open enrollment, administration and management of benefits, and compliance requirements. The specialist will be responsible for accurate and timely processing of all types of employee compensation and benefits, including off-cycle payrolls, leave of absences, and reimbursement calculations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in relevant software systems.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- ProcessaccurateandtimelypayrollutilizingADP Workforce Now.
- Responsible formaintainingcompliance with relevant laws and company policies.
- Review andvalidateemployee timekeeping records, attendance data, and payroll inputs.
- Audit payroll records toidentifyand resolve discrepancies.
- Manage payroll files while collaborating withthe accountingteam for reconciliation.
- Work hand in hand with the HR Manager during Open Enrollment.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, lifeinsurance, and otherbenefits.
- Manage/assign new hiretime off policies ona timelybasis.
- Assistand findresolutionsfor allemployeeinquiriesrelated to payroll, benefits,and any other related inquiry.
- Prepare andsubmitrequired reports togovernmentagencies.
- Maintainaccuraterecords ofemployeecompensation, benefits, and deductions.
- MonitorPTObalances and ensure proper recordkeeping.
- Assistemployees and managers withPTOrelated questions and processes.
- Stay updated on relevant regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Perform any other tasks or functionsdeemednecessary to the daily operations of the employer.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience as a payroll and benefitsspecialistorsimilar roleprocessing 100+ employees.
- In-depthwell-roundedknowledge ofpayrollprocess andprocedures,multi-statetaxsetups/regulations
- Well-Roundedknowledgeinbenefitsregardingopen enrollment,managementand administration of benefits.
- Proficient in ADP Workforce Now HRIS,Vendor and State portals,Microsoft OfficeSuiteand MacOS systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Excellentunderstanding of HR operations (compensation, compliance, benefits, etc.).
- Understanding and adhering to KPI’s and metrics.
- Able to type 45 WPMor more.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degreein Human Resourcesor related field.
- 2+ yearsof payrolland benefitsexperience.
Physical Demands:
- This position involves regular walking, standing sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking.
- Occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching
- May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.
- Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- The ability to move and lift items up to10 pounds.
Compensation & Benefits for Working at Meneses Law:
- Base Salary$55K -$60K
