Automotive Payroll Supervisor

Sheehy Auto Stores is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Supervisor to join our Payroll/HR team. This position works closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple automotive dealerships while supervising and supporting Payroll Coordinators in their daily responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll knowledge, leadership skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

•    Assist the Payroll Manager with weekly payroll processing for a multi-state automotive organization.
•    Supervise, train, and support Payroll Coordinators to ensure payroll activities are completed accurately and on time.
•    Assign, prioritize, and monitor payroll tasks and workloads.
•    Review Payroll Coordinator work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
•    Provide guidance and support in resolving payroll issues and employee inquiries.
•    Respond to employee and management payroll questions promptly and professionally.
•    Assist with new hire setup, employee changes, transfers, and terminations.
•    Maintain accurate payroll records and support documentation.
•    Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
•    Maintain strict confidentiality of employee payroll and personal information.
•    Provide backup support for the Payroll Manager as needed.
•    Perform other payroll and administrative duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

•    Previous payroll experience required.
•    Automotive dealership payroll experience preferred.
•    Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
•    High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education is a plus.
•    Experience processing multi-state payroll preferred.
•    Strong knowledge of payroll procedures, deductions, and payroll compliance requirements.
•    Experience with payroll software; ADP Workforce Now experience preferred.
•    Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook.
•    Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
•    Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
•    Ability to train, coach, and support team members while ensuring accountability.
•    Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
•    Authorized to work in the United States.•    Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check, MVR review, and drug screening.
