Position Summary As an Analyst on the Royalty Accounting team, you’ll play a meaningful role in ensuring BMI’s songwriters and publishers receive accurate, timely royalty payments. You’ll collaborate across departments including Creative, Distribution & Administrative Services, and Legal, while contributing to a team that values precision, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
Process stop-payments, voids, reissues, withheld money releases, adjustments, and account charges Research and resolve royalty account inquiries with accuracy and professionalism Support distribution and levy processing workflows Assist with electronic payment maintenance and respond to related inquiries Contribute to Royalty Accounting system enhancements, including testing, documentation, and training Sort and route daily mail and correspondence to the appropriate departments Partner on special projects and department initiatives as they arise Uphold BMI’s Core Values and actively contribute to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace
What You Bring
Associate’s degree in a business-related field (preferred) or equivalent experience 6 months to 1 year of relevant accounting or finance experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook Strong attention to detail and ability to manage tasks with accuracy Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills Willingness to learn BMI’s royalty accounting systems, policies, and procedures
