    ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS
    Pay Depends on Experience - $22.39 - $26.16
    Evergreen School District seeks an Administrative Assistant to the Director of Business to join one of the leading K-8 school districts in the state of Montana.  Evergreen's mission is to enable students to become responsible citizens and lifelong learners by ensuring quality instruction in a nurturing environment.  The Administrative Assistant to the Director of Business assists and supports the Director of Business/Clerk with a variety of duties.  This position reports directly to the Director of Business and Human Resources/Clerk.
    Preferred Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor degree preferred
    • Five years of experience working in a business office environment with at least one year experience in payroll preferred
    • Current knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
    • Working knowledge of office equipment including adding machine, copy machine, ten key, computer and software applications

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Serves as payroll officer in a timely and efficient manner
    • Files wage and tax statements with government agencies
    • Accurately records staff leave / absences and has excellent bookkeeping skills
    • Performs clerical, typing, filing, computer work
    • Prepares reports and mathematical computations
    • Maintains inventories and files
    • Receives and verifies incoming shipments
    • Maintains bus driver records
    • Performs duties of the Clerk in their absence (must be available for this duty upon request)
    • Address and package outgoing mail, sort and distribute incoming mail as needed
    • Assists in Fall Orientation
    • Assists in managing personnel files
    • Assists in audit preparation, gathers and organizes data as needed

    Physical Demands:

    • Works inside a District building in a controlled, well-lit environment
    • Requires prolonged sitting; substantial amount of time working at a computer station
    • Occasional lifting of 50 pounds or less

    Evaluation:

    • Performance to be evaluated annually by the Director of Business/Clerk

    Terms of Employment:

    • Hourly, 261 day contract year, Remuneration contingent upon preparation and experience
    • Health insurance, leave, and retirement provided
    • Work schedule/hours can be modified as determined by supervisor
