HornBill has a client that is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor in Lorton, Virginia (VA). Summary: You will be responsible for monitoring and managing the accounts payable team, alongside the Accounts Payable Manager. You will assist with the day to day accounting operations, while leading all operations for Accounts Payable. Supervises and develops the staff. Input invoices to accounts payable sub-ledger module along with coding invoices with proper department code, store number and account number. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review/Prepare reconciliation of corporate Pcard program
- Trains, develops and manages new A/P specialists
- Manage/Monitor department tracking logs (check requests; utilities; productivity; time)
- Monitor/Assist in acquisition process and the switching of utilities; track progress of updates
- Review/Prepare credit applications
- Review/Monitor aged A/P and work with A/P team to identify and resolve any issues and outstanding items
- Conducts employee evaluations with the A/P Manager
- Review/Process voided checks/invoices/ACH payments
- Manage vendor records in accounting software (i.e. update vendor record, review new vendor requests)
- Prepare weekly cash projection for review by Assistant Controller
- Monitor/implement department/company deadlines, and work with staff to make sure all deadlines are met
- Directs the A/P staff with day to day issues and questions
- Initiates process improvement and efficiencies within the department
- 4 Year BA/BS recommended
- 5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Proficient in MS Office
- Knowledge of Great Plains is preferable
