Accounts Payable Specialist + Mechanical + Omaha

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable (A/P) Specialist to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, enjoys working with high-volume data entry, and can effectively communicate with internal teams to ensure invoices are processed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of accounts payable invoices with accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform data entry for A/P invoices, which will make up approximately 75–80% of daily responsibilities.
• Match invoices to purchase orders (POs) and verify accuracy before processing.
• Research and resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and vendor invoices.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to resolve invoice and PO issues quickly and effectively.
• Process invoices received primarily via email and occasionally through mailed paper invoices
• Maintain organized electronic records and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
• Assist with other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable, preferably in the construction or mechanical contracting industry.
• Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience working with purchase orders and invoice matching.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers and vendors.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting or ERP software is preferred.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
