Primary Duties and Responsibilities  

• Completes weekly financial reports.
• Completes general ledger entries, accruals, audits and account reconciliations. Ensures accurate reporting of financial results for the division.
• Works with Director of Operations and Sales Teams to develop accurate financial forecasts.
• Prepares and submits period and year-end reports, provides analysis of financial results.
• Works with Corporate Finance and Accounting teams on general ledger balances and changes.
• Inventory Management: Works with Production, shipping and receiving on a daily basis to ensure that the ingredient, packaging and finished goods inventories are accurate and up to date.
• Supervises Salt Lake Accounting staff. Trains, monitors and evaluates work, provides guidance, discipline and other related activities (including hires, promotions, and terminations) in accordance with Franz/US Bakery policy and procedures.  Develops and tracks process, workflow and efficiencies.
• Travels out of state on Company business.
• May work outside of business hours, including occasional weekends.
• Performs other related duties of which the above are representative.

Preferred Education/Experience  

• A college degree in business, accounting, or finance. or equivalent years of experience required.
• Minimum of four (4) years related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge and proficiency of Windows based networks and programs including Microsoft Office Suite. Must have advanced working knowledge of Excel to include pivot tables.

Critical Skills and Expertise   

• Thorough knowledge of general accounting principles and practices. Cost accounting and financial analysis knowledge and experience is preferred.
• Experience with quarterly and year-end reporting, audits, account reconciliations, tax reporting, budgeting, and cash flow statements.
• Experience with implementation of new accounting systems is preferred.
• Proven management and organizational skills. Excellent oral, written skills and interpersonal skills to effectively work with other departments, vendors and senior staff.
• Valid ID State Driver’s License for business and travel between bakeries.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high change environment.
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Keen attention to detail and pride in data accuracy.
• Must have a positive and safe work ethic, be a team player, and be reliable.
