Accounting Manager

Wyman-Gordon's ISO Group, located in Worcester, Massachusetts, consists of three integrated manufacturing sites that produce high-performance nickel-based alloy components for aerospace, defense, and industrial gas turbine applications. Brighton, MI and Princeton, KY facilities specialize in producing nickel-based superalloys, supplying material to the Worcester MA isothermal forging operation. As part of Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC), the ISO Group is a growing $300 million business serving leading aerospace and defense customers with critical, high-performance forged components.

Accounting Manager

The Position

The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the accounting and policy activities of the ISO Group. This role oversees the monthly and year-end close processes, financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, treasury activities, and accounting operations for three (3) facilities and two (2) general legers. The Accounting Manager reports directly to the ISO Controller and will partner closely with operational and business leaders to ensure financial accuracy, support strategic decision-making, drive process improvements, and maintain compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, supporting schedules, account reconciliations, and management reporting packages.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, PCC accounting policies, and internal financial controls.
• Lead and oversee the ISO Group's Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance program, including control documentation, testing, and remediation activities.
• Lead and manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring timely collections and payment through management of the aging reports.
• Maintain ownership of balance sheet accounts, including reconciliations, reserves, accruals, and provision calculations.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and serve as the primary liaison with auditors.
• Partner with operational and business leaders to identify risks and opportunities, develop corrective action plans, and support achievement of financial commitments.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes, reporting accuracy, internal controls, and system capabilities.
• Participate in the monthly consolidation of financial results and ensure accurate submission to division and corporate management.
• Administer financial systems, policies, and procedures that effectively measure operational and financial performance.

Qualifications

• A minimum 5-8 years financial management experience in progressively responsible positions within public manufacturing organizations with a demonstrated track record of accountability and achievement.
• Strong skills and knowledge of accounting theory and application of financial principles (GAAP).
• Knowledge of Manufacturing / Cost Accounting preferred
• Knowledge and experience managing financial operations in a multi-site environment.
• Demonstrated track record of financial control and analysis within a complex manufacturing environment.
• Strong managerial presence that reflects a “hands-on”, participative, pro-active operating style. Excellent communication, planning and organization skills. 
• S. degree required.
• MBA/CPA preferred.
• Strong Excel Skills required, SQL Skills preferred
• Knowledge of Syteline ERP preferred
