Accounting Manager
We are partnered with a growing organization seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join its accounting team and play a key role in supporting the continued growth and development of the accounting function.
This individual will be responsible for managing key day-to-day accounting activities, supporting an accurate and timely close process, ensuring the integrity of financial information, and helping strengthen accounting processes, controls, and procedures.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who combines strong technical accounting fundamentals with the ability to lead and develop others, improve processes, manage competing priorities, and partner effectively across the organization
Key Responsibilities

Manage key aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion of accounting activities.
Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and other recurring accounting activities.
Review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies or unusual activity.
Support the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and internal financial reporting.
Maintain accounting accuracy across a multi-entity and/or multi-location environment, including intercompany activity and related reconciliations.
Ensure accounting transactions are recorded appropriately and consistently in accordance with U.S. GAAP and established company policies.
Manage, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team, providing guidance, feedback, and clear expectations.
Partner with accounting leadership to maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, procedures, and documentation.
Identify opportunities to streamline the close, automate manual processes, improve reporting, and increase efficiency within the accounting function.
Assist with external audit requests, schedules, documentation, and other year-end requirements.
Partner cross-functionally with finance and operational teams to research and resolve accounting issues and improve the accuracy of financial information.
Support accounting system improvements, implementations, integrations, and other process-enhancement initiatives.
Assist accounting leadership with special projects and additional accounting initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
Approximately 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience overseeing accounting processes and/or team members.
Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and U.S. GAAP.
Experience working within a multi-entity, multi-location, or similarly complex accounting environment strongly preferred.
Previous experience reviewing the work of others and providing coaching or oversight to accounting professionals.
Experience supporting external audits and preparing audit schedules and documentation.
Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and create more efficient, scalable accounting procedures.
Strong systems aptitude with experience working in ERP and financial reporting environments.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple levels of an organization.
