The Opportunity

We're seeking an Accounting Manager who enjoys hands-on accounting and wants room to grow. You'll play a key role in PBS's internal financial operations, supporting accurate reporting, cash management, and month-end close across multiple entities. You'll work with management, accounting colleagues, and external partners to resolve issues and improve processes.

This role offers potential to grow into a Controller position as you demonstrate strong performance and readiness for broader financial leadership. It's an opportunity to deepen your accounting expertise while building toward greater responsibility.

What You'll Do

• Monitor daily cash activity, investigate discrepancies, reconcile bank accounts, and coordinate authorized payments and transfers.
• Prepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, review staff reconciliations, and reconcile intercompany balances to support month-end close.
• Manage client billing and accounts payable activities, verify charges against approved quotes, and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Review vendor invoices, company credit-card activity, and employee expenses for accuracy and appropriate documentation.
• Prepare monthly financial reports for management and assist with analyses and process improvements.
• Coordinate information for annual Form 1099 preparation and support external financial statement audits.
• Maintain organized records and follow internal controls, approval requirements, and confidentiality standards.
• Coordinate with vendors and support approved purchasing and other assigned operational needs.

What We're Looking For

• Associate degree or higher in Accounting or a related field.
• Three to five years of experience in an accounting department environment.
• Proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks Online, with the ability to learn banking, payroll, billing, expense, and payment platforms.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment when handling financial information.
• Clear communication and the ability to work independently, collaborate across departments, and manage deadlines.
• An interest in improving processes and developing toward broader accounting leadership responsibilities.
