Accounting Intern

This full-time internship will run from May 24 through July 31, 2027, and will be based at SERVPRO Corporate Headquarters in Gallatin, Tennessee. The position pays $20.00 per hour. Please note that housing, relocation assistance, and other accommodations are not provided by the Company.

Job Summary

The Accounting Intern's goal is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the day-to-day accounting operations within the SERVPRO organization. Through hands-on experience with the Accounting team, the intern will develop a foundational understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting processes, internal controls, and the business drivers that support SERVPRO's operations and strategic objectives.

The Accounting Intern will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced accounting and finance professionals, contributing to meaningful projects and learning how accounting supports key business decisions. The internship is designed to provide exposure to corporate accounting functions while building technical, analytical, and professional skills.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and journal entry preparation.
• Support the preparation and analysis of financial reports and schedules.
• Review financial data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company policies.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management processes as needed.
• Participate in special projects involving process improvements, data analysis, and any reporting enhancements.
• Gain exposure to accounting systems, financial controls, and reporting tools used throughout the organization.
• Research accounting issues and assist in documenting procedures and processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to better understand operational and financial business drivers.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• A proactive and creative mindset, with a willingness to learn and contribute new ideas.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be a current Junior or Senior enrolled in college, pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting or a related field.
