Opportunity Summary:
The Accounting Assistant position has responsibility for the application of principles of accounting and the maintenance of the general accounting system. The position is primarily responsible for the following areas: Responsible for all segments of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, backup for payroll, as well as being responsible for maintaining correct procedures for internal controls. This position oversees daily transactions (e.g. accounts payable/receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations), participates in tax audits and payroll, as well as prepares budget reports.
How you will make contributions that matter:
- Ensure daily Autodraft is processed to debit accounts and apply misc. A/R payments and follow-up on past due invoices.
- Complete Daily Reconciliation payments, monitor aging reports and communicate late payment information to GM.
- Responsible for processing product vendor invoices for payment.
- Ensure Company check processing and ACH is completed accurately.
- Process customer product claims to the correct vendor for reimbursement.
- Coordinate electronic information transfers to various vendors/customers.
- Process and maintain Credit Card Payments to vendors.
- Enter and double check all pricing.
- Enter and double check all item setups.
- Setup A/P daily calendar.
- Setup and maintain new locations as required.
- Setup new A/P expense Vendors.
- Backup for Rochester, NY Accounting.
- Good Customer Service skills and following up with owners.
- Maintain accounting procedures and standards for internal controls,
- Other duties may be assigned.
What You'll Bring:
- Education – associate degree or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Experience – experience with accounts payable/receivable, experience with accounting software.
- Other Required Skills or Abilities – Creativity, multi-tasking, able to adapt to fast-paced and changing environment.
- Knowledge of accounting software, data entry skills technical skills (including Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point).
- Engineered labor standards and systems, voice selection technology (Lucas), JD Edwards.
