Accounting Assistant3-Month Contract — with potential to become permanentTilley Endurables Inc.Scarborough, ONWe are growing and are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our Finance team on a 3-month contract, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position based on performance and business needs.Reporting to the CFO, the Accounting Assistant will provide hands-on, day-to-day support across the finance department — helping out wherever needed within our accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions. This is a junior role, and it is a great fit for someone who is early in their accounting career, enjoys variety, and can move between tasks quickly and efficiently as priorities shift.For this role we are placing the greatest emphasis on attitude — a willingness to learn, a positive can-do mindset, and a genuine desire to pitch in. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you, even if you are just getting started.Key duties and responsibilities include:•     Provide general day-to-day support to the Finance team across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting•     Match vendor invoices against purchase orders and receiving documents, flagging and helping resolve any discrepancies•     Assist with processing and applying customer payments to the correct accounts•     Enter, code, and allocate invoices to the appropriate cost centers and general ledger accounts•     Help maintain accurate, complete, and well-organized vendor and customer files and records•     Support reconciliation of account balances and follow up on outstanding or delinquent items•     Assist with daily banking duties•     Respond to routine vendor and customer inquiries, escalating more complex items as needed•     Provide filing, documentation, and general administrative support to keep records audit-ready•     Assist with month-end and year-end tasks, prepare ad hoc reports, and support special projects, as required•     Pitch in wherever help is needed across the department and take on new tasks as they come upWhat we’re looking for (attitude first):•     A positive, can-do attitude and a genuine willingness to learn — this matters most to us•     Comfortable switching between different tasks quickly and efficiently while staying organized•     Reliable and dependable, with an eagerness to pitch in wherever help is needed•     Good communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset•     Solid attention to detail and the confidence to ask questions when something isn’t clear•     Comfortable with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (basic proficiency is fine)Nice to have (not required):•     Some exposure to accounting, bookkeeping, or a business or administrative environment•     Coursework, diploma, or certificate in accounting or business•     Experience using Microsoft Dynamics Business CentralWhat we offer:•     On-the-job training and mentorship from an experienced finance team•     A supportive, fast-paced environment where you’ll learn a bit of everything•     Casual dress•     Employee discount on merchandise•     Free parking•     A real opportunity for the contract to become a permanent roleOther details:•     3-month contract, with potential to move to permanent•     Monday to Friday•     On-site roleWe are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible workplace.
