Position: Accountant
Department: Business Department (Central Administration Office)
Reports to: Controller
FLSA Status: Exempt � Administrative Support Personnel
Schedule: Full-Time, 12 Months

SUMMARY:
Supports the Controller in overseeing accounting, auditing, purchasing and other business office functions to ensure accurate reporting and appropriate internal controls.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

- Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries and reconciliations.
- Prepare month-end and year-end closing entries.
- Reconcile bank and investment accounts.
- Assist with cash management and cash flow forecasting.
- Assists with annual audit schedules and ACFR preparation.
- Prepare PDE and other governmental financial reports.
- Prepare monthly financial and budget reports.
- Assists with financial reporting for federal, state, and local grants.
- Recommend improvements to accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Provide backup support for Business Office functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Three to five years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
- Governmental or school district accounting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements.
