Salary Range:  $52337.00 - $57208.00

Note: Starting salary will be determined based on education and experience

Basic PurposeThe Oklahoma Military Department is a state agency responsible for the administration of the Oklahoma Army and Air National Guard to ensure units and personnel are readily available when called to support the state and nation. It’s a unique state and federal relationship accomplished through various Cooperative Agreements with the National Guard Bureau. This accounting position is an integral part of that process assigned to the Comptroller Division working closely with the accounting staff and members of the federal programs. The Military Department prides itself on customer service and the ability to work together as a team.

 

Benefits:  This is a full-time state position that provides a percentage of matching contributions to employees’ retirement plans, 11 holidays, and a minimum of 15 days of annual and sick leave per year. The state also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a benefit allowance to offset the cost of insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents.

 

Essential Functions:

·         Additional duties as assigned.

 

·         Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  Knowledge of:

o   Oklahoma Peoplesoft Financials;

o   Bookkeeping practices and standards;

o   Modern office methods and procedures, including computer technology related to accounting.

·         Ability to:

o   Review and analyze financial information;

o   Work as a team member or when necessary, work independently with limited instruction/supervision;

o   Communicate effectively with staff and customers;

·         Skills:

o   Strong computer skills specifically with Microsoft Excel

o   Professional and courteous customer service;

o   Detail-oriented and organized.

 

 

Experience and Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related business field plus 3 years of experience in performing professional accounting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
