Job Summary:
The Accountant II supports the financial health of the organization by performing planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities, preparing detailed work papers, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and other critical reports.
Essential Functions:
Administer and process intercompany debit memos to ensure accurate and timely reconciliation between Crane locations.
Maintain and reconcile prepaid accounts, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and accurate amortization schedules.
Complete and review monthly bank account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain Financial Closing policies, narratives, and procedures in compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure audit readiness by explaining monthly closing procedures and preparing accurate financial data.
Prepare and file monthly B&O Excise tax returns and bi-annual property tax payments.
Assist in the preparation of the annual tax package and Unclaimed Property returns.
Ensure compliance with all state and local tax regulations.
Support the development and optimization of data management systems to ensure accurate maintenance of accounting records and timely financial reporting.
Prepare and submit VAT reclaim filings bi-annually, ensuring compliance with international tax regulations.
Maintain and customize Oracle Financial Statement reports to meet evolving business needs.
Cross-train with team members on critical closing functions, including HFM uploads, to ensure seamless operations during absences or transitions.
Prepare and assist in completing customer, supplier, and government surveys, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
Document systems and procedures, maintaining up-to-date desk instructions.
Support planning and forecasting activities.
Perform special financial analysis as required.
Complete any other tasks assigned by the supervisor or management.
Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Non-Essential Functions:
Administer the Travel Card program.
Serve as a backup to the Accounting Manager as needed.
Analyze, compute, and prepare monthly financial and operating statements.
Maintain and analyze the contents of general ledger accounts, providing appropriate audit trails and determining accuracy, corrections, or adjustments as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: 2+ years of related experience that demonstrates satisfactory competency and knowledge of both the theory and practice of modern accounting principles and methods as applied to a high-technology electronics design and manufacturing operation.
Knowledge: Knowledge of financial systems, budget processes, and principles of capital investment and return; Competence in applying analytical statistics.
Skills/Abilities: Conceptual and analytical ability to create and design improvements in departmental operations and procedures.
Ability to organize and present financial data in a clear and concise manner.
Strong oral and written communication skills to prepare comprehensive analyses, recommendations, and reports.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff and outside professionals.
Excellent PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Education/Certification: BA or BS degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous financial/cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly Oracle.
Familiarity with Hyperion HFM.
Working Conditions:
Standard office environment.
Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail.
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment, including but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps, and any other required PPE.
May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust, or fumes.
Requires occasional travel for training.

Salary range: $79,654.70 - 97,518.10. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
