Job Description
The Accountant I is responsible for assisting with various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established financial policies and procedures.
Reports to: Divisional Controller - Corporate Accounting
Direct Reports: None
Duties/Responsibilities: The duties listed below are an outline of the Accountant I’s responsibilities and should not be considered an all-inclusive list. As the needs of the organization change, these duties may be modified as needed.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Record and reconcile financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment collections.
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
- Support the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings.
- Assist in various ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks as needed.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 0-2 years of accounting experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
