Accountant

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a detail oriented Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger activities. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Sage Intacct and a strong understanding of accounting principles.

This role works 5 days in office Silver Spring, MD

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure proper documentation of transactions.
• Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed.
• Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Support annual audit requests and other financial projects.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Utilize Sage Intacct to process transactions, generate reports, and maintain financial records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
