Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Accounting Department with day-to-day accounting activities, including account reconciliations, equipment accounting, intercompany transactions, tax filings, financing coordination, and quarterly financial reporting. This role works closely with the Assistant Controller and other accounting team members to ensure accurate and timely financial records and compliance with reporting requirements.

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Monthly bank reconciliations for multiple entities
• Setting up equipment in Viewpoint and maintaining monthly depreciation schedule for multiple entities
• Monthly intercompany equipment billing from assigned companies
• Monthly filing of Highway Use Tax (HUT) returns
• Annual filing of NYC Commercial Motor Vehicle Tax, sticker maintenance throughout the year
• Personal Property Tax filing quarterly, annually depending on entity
• Equipment Inventory Tax filing
• Equipment Financing – Getting rates, collecting assets invoices/backup, dealing with bank on financing paperwork, request insurance certificates, add any liens on titles
• Assist with quarterly Financial Statements schedule (operating leases, notes payable, inventory, etc.)
• Reviewing/Capitalizing Leasehold Improvements
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The ideal candidate will possess 3+ years’ experience in accounting, preferably in Construction or Equipment Facility
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with accounting and Microsoft Office is required
• Very detailed oriented and able to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy
• Must be capable of meeting deadlines, self-motivated, detail oriented and the ability to demonstrate high degree of accuracy and have excellent follow-through capability
• Team member will have excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
• Ability to multi-task and to perform in a Team environment

Reports to: Assistant Controller

Work Location: Farmingdale, NY

Compensation:  $55,000-$75,000
