As VP & CFO for Retirement Solutions and Investment Management Group (IMG), you’ll lead a team that provides financial management to the businesses including timely, accurate, and actionable financial data, business and industry insights, pricing and underwriting leadership, and financial reporting and planning. In Retirement Solutions, you’ll have responsibility for the design and implementation of a comprehensive Request for Proposal (RPF) process that is a key driver of new business. You’ll partner and consult with business and matrix leadership on the development and execution of strategies that effectively position the businesses in extremely competitive industries. We’ll count on you to support product and pricing strategies focused on growth, profitability, and risk management. You’ll also be a member of the Retirement Solutions Leadership Team, the IMG Leadership Team and the Nationwide Financial (NF) Finance Council.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships:  Reports to SVP, Chief Financial Officer – Nationwide Financial. Leads a team of 3 direct reports and 60 indirect reports.

Typical Skills and Experiences: 

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field. 

License/Certification/Designation:  FSA, CPA or similar certifications required.

Experience:  Typically, 15 or more years of functional experience and 10 or more years of people management and industry experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:  Leadership, influence, problem-solving, agility, collaboration, decision-making, strategic thinking, strong financial acumen, presentation, and communications skills.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment.  Some travel may be required.
