General Description
The Vendor Management Specialist manages assigned supplier relationships and serves as a key liaison among management, vendors, and internal clients (employees) to support reliable, service-oriented vendor performance. This role is responsible for monitoring vendor performance, service level agreements, contractual obligations, pricing compliance, invoice accuracy, vendor-related activities, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen service outcomes and operational excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage assigned suppliers and serve as the primary liaison between Popular and vendors, monitoring overall service performance, service quality, and vendor value. Monitor service level agreements, pricing compliance, contractual obligations, renewals, amendments, and related requirements to support compliance and timely decision-making. Identify, escalate, and resolve supplier performance issues, service concerns, billing discrepancies, claims, and invoicing disputes, coordinating actions with vendors and business units. Analyze vendor, contract, billing, inventory, and service data to prepare performance reports, quality insights, and recommendations for stakeholders. Coordinate vendor review processes, including quarterly business reviews, documentation of outcomes, follow-up actions, and performance improvement plans. Support contract negotiations, validation of supplier price increases, and procurement decisions through analysis, recommendations, and supporting documentation.
Review and validate vendor invoices, contracted pricing, credits, service charges, and billing discrepancies; coordinate corrective actions and maintain appropriate documentation and controls. Coordinate cellphone program activities throughout the device lifecycle, including new line activations, equipment replacements, warranty escalations, service changes, vendor follow-ups, and ticket resolution within established service level targets. Monitor cellphone inventory, device availability, accessory needs, replacement trends, billing items, and service charges to support timely service delivery and cost-effective decisions. Provide guidance and support for purchase orders, requisitions, product onboarding, catalog availability, inventory movement, supply levels, and demand trends. Identify cost savings, cost avoidance, process efficiencies, and continuous improvement opportunities across vendor, contract, cellphone, and procurement operations. Support Procurement Operations initiatives, system upgrades, change management activities, and assigned projects. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related fieldsBachelor’s Degree in Business-Related SpecialtyExperience
Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in vendor management, procurement operations, contract support, or a similar business function.

- Ability to synthesize, prioritize and drive results with a sense of urgency.
- Excellent organizational skills for setting priorities, working with multiple tasks simultaneously, and meeting deadlines.
- Strong analytical, presentation and communication skills with an ability to explain complex concepts in a compelling away.
- Knowledge of project coordination, time management, and status reports. Must demonstrate strong, collaboration, logic, and reasoning skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and teamwork skills with ability to negotiate, motivate, influence, and build consensus.

- Must be willing to work flexible hours, as necessary.
- Computer skills, including typing and knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, Power Point etc.).
- Strong Oral Communication: (Spanish and English): Speaks clearly and persuasively, in positive or negative solutions. Demonstrates polished presentation skills.
- Strong Written Communication: (Spanish and English): Writes clearly and informatively. Edits work of spelling and grammar; presents numerical data effectively.
