You will work with a diverse range of clients across Canada, including public and private middle market companies as well as large multinational organizations. In this role, you'll deliver consulting and advisory services to Canadian-owned US businesses on a range of US state and local tax matters, including tax planning, compliance, and strategy. Because each state has its own rules, rates, and filing methods, you will help businesses understand their obligations, optimize their tax positions, and navigate complex issues from strategy through execution.

Support US SALT due diligence on potential acquisitions and transaction-related projects such as restructuring.
Use feedback and reflection to develop self-awareness, leverage personal strengths, and address development areas.
Support day-to-day execution of workstreams across multiple engagements, communicating progress, questions, and issues to Senior Associates and above in a timely manner.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with client stakeholders and internal teams through responsive communication, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive team environment and support knowledge sharing among peers.
Stay current on state and local tax developments and share relevant insights with the team.
Support business development efforts by assisting with research, proposals, and client materials.
Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.
We are looking for individuals who are committed to building a career in US taxation; someone who is eager to develop their state tax expertise.
