Trust & Estate Tax Manager / Director
We are partnering with a well-established public accounting firm seeking an experienced Trust & Estate Tax Manager or Director to lead and grow its fiduciary tax practice. This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned tax professional who enjoys working closely with high-net-worth individuals, families, fiduciaries, and business owners while mentoring staff and contributing to the firm's continued growth. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and review of complex fiduciary, estate, gift, and individual income tax returns.
- Provide technical guidance on trust, estate, and tax planning matters.
- Advise clients and internal teams on estate and trust administration, probate matters, and fiduciary accounting.
- Research federal and state tax issues and develop practical solutions for clients.
- Respond to IRS and state tax agency notices and assist with audits or tax examinations when necessary.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships while serving as a trusted advisor.
- Supervise, coach, and develop tax professionals, ensuring quality work and timely project completion.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance client service.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of public accounting experience with a strong concentration in trust and estate taxation.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; Master's degree is a plus.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Strong understanding of fiduciary tax law, estate planning, and trust administration.
- Experience using professional tax software and accounting systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlines.
