Job Duties and Preferred Qualifications:
The Department of the City Treasurer is seeking a Treasurer Specialist I.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide professional customer service over the phone, in person, and via email
- Answer multi-line phones
- Assist taxpayers with inquiries and balances
- Research issues in software systems
- Cross-train with other departments and assist in providing coverage during peak times, sickness, or vacations
- Open & sort mail
- Clerk payments
- Responsible for monitoring and answering department email with professional communication
- Responsible for maintaining department address changes and return mail system updates
- Must have basic writing skills
- Fold and stuff outgoing mail
- General clerical and office duties as assigned
- Proficiency using a 10-key and typing at least 30 wpm

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: High school or GED plus one (1) year experience in fields providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities, such as bookkeeping, clerical accounting, customer service; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Special Requirements: All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.Skills:
