POSITION SUMMARY
The Treasury Analyst supports the day-to-day treasury operations of California Bioenergy and its affiliated entities by helping ensure the timely and accurate processing, recording, and monitoring of cash and banking transactions. This role is responsible for daily bank account activity, deposits, intercompany transfers, payment support, treasury-related entries, and maintaining accurate documentation across multiple legal entities.
Reporting to the Treasury Manager, the Treasury Analyst works closely with Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Finance, and Human Resources to support cash management, payment processing, bank administration, financial reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily Cash Management & Bank Monitoring
- Monitor daily activity and balances across multiple bank accounts and legal entities.
- Review incoming and outgoing transactions for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate recording.
- Identify unusual, unexpected, or potentially fraudulent transactions and promptly escalate concerns.
- Assist with daily cash positioning and maintain accurate cash activity schedules.
- Research and resolve bank transaction discrepancies in coordination with internal teams and banking partners.
Payment Processing & Deposits
- Support the weekly payment and check-run process in partnership with Accounts Payable.
- Assist with the preparation and processing of checks, ACH payments, wire transfers, and other treasury transactions.
- Prepare, process, and document bank deposits, including remote deposits when applicable.
- Review Positive Pay activity and support established payment controls and fraud-prevention procedures.
- Respond to internal questions regarding payment status, deposits, and banking transactions.
- Intercompany & Accounting Support
- Process and record intercompany cash transfers across multiple affiliated entities.
- Enter treasury-related transactions and journal entries in Sage accurately and timely.
- Maintain clear supporting documentation for intercompany transfers, deposits, payments, and other cash activity.
- Assist Accounting with bank reconciliations, month-end closing, and research of outstanding or reconciling items.
- Coordinate with Accounts Receivable to support the identification and application of customer receipts and deposits.
Banking Administration & Controls
- Support administration of Chase and other online banking platforms, including account information and user documentation.
- Assist with bank account openings, closings, signer changes, and maintenance requests.
- Maintain organized treasury records, banking documents, authorized signer information, and audit support schedules.
- Follow established treasury policies, approval requirements, segregation-of-duties standards, and internal controls.
- Safeguard confidential banking, employee, vendor, and company financial information.
Cross-Functional Support & Process Improvement
- Partner with Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Finance, and Human Resources to ensure treasury transactions are processed accurately and on time.
- Assist with treasury reporting, cash activity schedules, audit requests, and other recurring deliverables.
- Support banking implementations, system enhancements, and treasury process-improvement initiatives.
- Help document, maintain treasury procedures, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and controls.
- Perform other treasury and finance-related duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field required.
- Two to five years of treasury and banking experience required.
- Hands-on experience with cash management, bank account monitoring, deposits, ACH payments, wire transfers, check processing, and intercompany transactions preferred.
- Experience supporting multiple legal entities and working within established financial controls is preferred.
- Experience with Sage or a comparable accounting or enterprise resource planning system preferred.
- Experience with Chase Access or a similar commercial online banking platform preferred.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and related business applications.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet recurring deadlines, and work effectively with limited supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, discretion, and commitment to protecting confidential information.
- Ability to work full-time from CalBio’s Dallas, Texas office.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- This is a fully on-site position requiring regular attendance at the assigned work location (Dallas, TX)
- Standard office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
- Regular use of accounting software, spreadsheets, and office equipment
- Occasional extended hours may be required during month-end, quarter-end, or year-end close periods
- Limited travel may be required for meetings or training, with advance notice
