Transitions Accounting Manager

- Manage and oversee all accounting-related aspects of property onboarding and offboarding transitions.
- Coordinate and track transition timelines, deliverables, and checklists to ensure all transition milestones are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Establish and maintain accounting system setups, entity records, bank accounts, and related financial platforms for newly onboarded properties.
- Coordinate the collection, organization, and distribution of transition-related information, documentation, credentials, and access rights to internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Obtain, maintain, and update access to banking, lender, mortgage, utility, vendor, and other third-party platforms as required.
- Import historical accounting data and transactions into company systems and validate data integrity and completeness.
- Prepare opening balance sheet entries and other transition-related journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
- Analyze financial records, reconcile balance sheet accounts, identify discrepancies, and perform post-conversion cleanup activities to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure all transition accounting activities comply with GAAP, company policies, internal controls, and established procedures.
- Strong understanding of real estate accounting, including purchase price allocations
- Ability to independently identify issues, analyze complex situations, and develop effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, highly developed interpersonal skills
- Must be accountable for work goals and objectives
- Ability to multi-task while adhering to deadlines and maintaining accuracy
- Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality, with an emphasis on detecting errors and/or potential fraud.
- Experience in accounting, including debits, credits and G/L account number structures required.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Talking: The ability to clearly communicate policies, procedures, and processes as well as detailed instructions or information accurately and quickly in English.
- Average Hearing: The ability to hear average or normal conversations, alarms and receive ordinary information.
- Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents. Depth perception is required. The ability to see and read printed or computerized material.
- Physical Strength: The ability to sit in front of a computer for prolonged periods of time. The ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Repetitive Motions & Dexterity: Regularly requires repetitive motions using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, including small movements such as typing and picking up small objects.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be sitting for prolonged periods of time when designing training curricula and working on a computer. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- The associate may be required to work greater than 40 hours in a work week.
- The employee may be required to travel to conduct training classes or meetings, or to provide individual or small group coaching or training on-site. The employee will also be required to travel for professional training seminars, retreats, and meetings.
