Full-time Description

Join our team! Windsor Hospitality thrives in building hospitality careers. We want to design a path of professional growth and give you the keys to such success. We are recognized as a strong partner with warm-hearted hospitality staff nationwide. Windsor Hospitality is looking for their newest Accounting Manager!

About this Location:

This position is located at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. We are right in the middle of the action! Our hotel is perfectly situated next to the Las Vegas Convention Center and just three miles from Harry Reid International Airport. With the monorail just steps away and world-class entertainment, dining, and shopping minutes from our door, you will be working in the heart of all that Las Vegas has to offer.

Why do we need you?

The Accounting Manager is the sole on-property accounting resource for the hotel. Reporting to the General Manager, this role performs the full accounting cycle directly, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash handling and house bank controls, general ledger maintenance, and the month-end close.

The Accounting Manager reports to the General Manager for day-to-day directions and receives technical directions, reviews, and support from the corporate accounting team. Work is performed in accordance with Company policy, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI).

What will you do?

1. Month-End Close and Financial Reporting. Prepare monthly financial statements, supporting work papers, and schedules in accordance with GAAP, USALI, Company policy, and the applicable hotel management agreement. Deliver a complete close package to the corporate accounting team within established deadlines.

2. General Ledger. Maintain the hotel general ledger, including routine journal entries and month-end accruals. Research and correct posting errors and coding discrepancies on a timely basis.

3. Transactional Accounting. Process and reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit, night audit revenue posting, cash handling and house banks. Monitor group and city ledger aging and apply Company approval thresholds to the disbursement cycle.

4. Service Charge and Tip Accounting. Calculate banquet service charge distributions and tip allocations and submit them to Human Resources for processing. Reconcile the related liability accounts and verify that service charge and gratuity income is recorded accurately.

5. Internal Controls and Compliance. Execute Company internal accounting controls and safeguard Company and property assets. Because this position performs multiple transactional functions, independent review and approval controls reside with the corporate accounting team. Maintain direct access to corporate accounting to escalate control, compliances, or reporting concerns.

6. Forecast and Budget Support. Provide historical financial data and actual results to the Geneal Manager and corporate accounting to support the monthly forecast and the annual operating budget.

7. Audit and Records Management. Support internal and external audits by preparing requested schedules and responding to auditor inquiries. Maintain record retention in accordance with Company policy and contractual requirement.

8. Tax and Licensing Support. Compile and submit supporting data to the corporate accounting team for Clark County transient lodging tax, Nevada sales and use tax, and Nevada Modified Business Tax returns, which are prepared and filed at the corporate office. Reconcile related tax liability accounts and maintain current State of Nevada and Clark County business licenses and permits at the property.
