Position Summary

This position ensures the integrity of the college financial operations by maintaining internal controls, compiling, verifying, and analyzing account information including reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies, preparing and providing financial reports and other accounting duties.

MAJOR DUTIES

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS

The Budget Officer provides leadership in terms of subject matter expertise, workflow management and adherence to established internal control processes, ensuring accuracy of work product and compliance with policies and procedures.  The Senior Accountant serves as a lead accountant to this position.

GUIDELINES

Guidelines include adherence to College employee handbook, internal controls, GAAP, GASB standards, 2 CFR Part 200, granting agency specific regulations, NMHED guidelines, and College policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application.
