Technical Accounting Senior Manager

This is a hybrid position based in our global headquarters in Reston, VA, and will report to the Senior Director, Accounting Policy.
What You Will Do:
- Analyze unique transactions and prepare technical accounting memos to document accounting positions to ensure proper accounting and disclosure conclusions.
- Review accounting policies and procedures for ongoing pertinence.
- Collaborate with other teams (FP&A, Tax, Legal, Operations, Business Developments, Treasury, etc.) to provide technical accounting guidance on various topics including: revenue recognition, software development, business combinations, leases, stock-based compensation, and derivatives.
- Monitor and assess the impact of new accounting standards and lead implementations as applicable.
- Take the lead on specific topics including: purchase accounting, software development, lease accounting, impairment assessments of goodwill and long lived assets, accounting of joint ventures, and segment reporting.
- Interact with external auditors.
- Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly Forms 10-Q and 8-K earnings release, and annual Form 10-K and Proxy statement.
- Assist in maintaining and improving SOX compliance related to technical accounting processes.
- Provide support on various special projects as assigned by management.
What You Will Bring With You
- 7+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or other technical accounting roles, including experience with the following areas of U.S. GAAP: ASC 606, 805, 842, and 718.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related discipline.
- CPA Certification
- Experience with Hyperion (HFM), Costpoint, and Cognos.
