JOB SUMMARY:
This is a Tax Specialist I position in the General Tax Administration Program's, Taxpayer Services Process, Tax Information Section. The incumbent provides guidance on policy and procedures regarding laws, collection activities and accounting principles from complex tax related inquiries to both internal and external customers. The incumbent also researches tax issues and laws, and examines taxpayer accounts for compliance using the System for Unified Taxation (SUNTAX). Additionally, the incumbent may provide training and assistance in several areas of taxation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.
- Eighteen months of experience providing customer service that includes telephone or written communication.
- Eighteen months of experience researching and resolving account issues in the System for Unified Taxation (SUNTAX) or CAMS.
SPECIAL NOTES:
- The successful candidate will be required to answer a large volume of calls up to 7.5 hours a day.
- This position is eligible for teleworking after successfully completing training and meeting performance expectations. Training is conducted virtually in a socially distanced office environment. The successful candidate must complete all assigned training and is required to receive a score of at least 80% on any assessments in order to retain this position.
SALARY: The hiring salary for this position generally will not exceed $3,881.92 monthly/$46,583.04 annually.
