Most high-net-worth tax opportunities still revolve around managing compliance deadlines, reviewing returns, and getting through the next busy season.

This one gives you a much bigger seat at the table.

We're partnering with a sophisticated national advisory firm that is expanding its New York tax practice and looking for an experienced tax professional to work directly with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.

You'll still own technically complex tax work, but the role goes well beyond compliance. You'll advise clients throughout the year, develop planning strategies, work alongside their broader wealth management teams, and become someone clients are comfortable calling directly when an important tax or financial decision comes up.

The team is growing, the opening is a priority, and they're looking for someone who combines strong HNW technical tax expertise with the polish and judgment to become a trusted client advisor.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

Dedicated family office experience is not required. Candidates coming from strong HNW/private client practices are encouraged to apply.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

More than compliance. You'll be involved in planning and problem-solving throughout the year, not simply reviewing returns at deadline.

Sophisticated HNW clients. The practice is centered around complex individuals and families with investment entities, trusts and other interconnected tax considerations.

Direct client ownership. They want someone clients trust enough to call directly — not someone permanently sitting behind the engagement Partner.

Integrated advisory environment. You'll interact with professionals involved in the client's broader wealth strategy, giving you visibility beyond the tax return itself.

Growth-driven opportunity. The team has continued adding sophisticated client work and is investing in additional senior tax talent to support that growth.

Strong retention. This is a close-knit group where professionals tend to build long-term careers rather than cycle through every few years.

Competitive compensation. $200K–$220K base salary plus discretionary bonus.

The Environment

This team will be a particularly strong fit for someone who is technically sharp but also curious, personable and advisory-minded.

They aren't looking for someone who simply knows how to complete a return correctly. They want someone who asks questions, understands the story behind the numbers, communicates confidently with sophisticated clients, and takes genuine ownership of relationships.

The position is hybrid in New York City and offers the opportunity to join an established team while continuing to grow into broader client and practice leadership.

If you've built your career in HNW individual tax and want your next role to give you more client ownership, more planning exposure, and more room to operate as an advisor, we'd love to connect.
