We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our growing Private Client Services practice. This role will focus on providing tax compliance, planning, and consulting services to high-net-worth individuals, families, and closely held businesses. The ideal candidate will be a strategic advisor with strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a client-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage tax compliance and consulting engagements for high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and closely held entities.
- Review complex tax returns, including individual (1040), partnerships, S-corporations, trusts, estates, and gift tax returns.
- Provide advanced tax planning strategies related to income, estate, gift, and wealth transfer taxes.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong long-term relationships.
- Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide proactive advisory services.
- Manage, mentor, and develop tax managers and staff; review work and provide technical guidance.
- Collaborate with partners on practice development and client growth initiatives.
- Participate in business development efforts, including networking, proposal development, and client presentations.
- Stay current on tax law changes and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work in the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university required.
- Active CPA license or EA certification required.
- MST, JD, or LLM in Taxation a plus.
- 7+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, with a focus on high-net-worth individuals, family offices, or private client services.
- Deep technical expertise in individual, partnership, trust, and estate taxation.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and tax research platforms (e.g., CCH Tax, Engagement or similar).
- Proven experience managing client relationships and leading engagements
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with complex, multi-entity structures and high-volume K-1 environments preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
The compensation for this position ranges from $100,000 - $135,000. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills, and certifications.
