Responsibilities:
- Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations (C and S), partnerships, and trusts
- Support clients with strategic tax planning throughout the year
- Participate in multiple engagements concurrently, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
- Conduct forensic accounting and business valuation projects as assigned
- Perform technical tax research and interpret complex regulations for practical application
- Accurately compile and analyze entity workpapers and prepare complete tax filings
- Project estimated taxes, file extensions, and ensure timely compliance
- Develop and manage open items lists and follow up to resolve outstanding issues
- Record adjusting journal entries and demonstrate solid knowledge of bookkeeping, general ledger, and trial balances
- Collaborate with colleagues and management in a respectful, timely, and effective manner
- Maintain a proactive approach to deadlines, clearly communicating progress and potential delays
- Demonstrate working proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software
- Uphold firm culture and contribute positively to a team-oriented environment
Qualifications:
- Enrolled Agent, CPA license (or actively pursuing CPA designation) strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline from an accredited institution; Master’s in Accounting a plus
- Recent hands-on experience in public accounting, specifically in corporate income taxation
- Strong technical acumen and the ability to research and apply tax laws to client scenarios
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working directly with clients
- Professional, composed, and solution-oriented, with a high level of self-accountability
- Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering quality work on time
