Job Summary

York Space Systems is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team based in our Greenwood Village office. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close process and financial reporting for a growing manufacturing organization. This position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to partner cross-functionally while supporting continuous process improvements.

This role will be fully on-site in our Greenwood Village office.

Key Responsibilities

Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring assigned areas are completed accurately and on time in accordance with US GAAP Prepare and post journal entries across key areas including expenses, revenue, accruals, intercompany, and fixed assets Perform and maintain detailed account reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely resolution of reconciling items Support general ledger integrity by validating financial data, investigating variances, and maintaining proper account classifications Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting requests, and special projects as assigned Assist with audit processes by preparing PBC documentation and responding to auditor requests Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and company accounting policies and procedures Identify discrepancies or process gaps and proactively recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency Support implementation of process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements within the accounting function Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data and resolve transactional issues Cross-train to provide backup coverage across the accounting team to support broader finance initiatives

Qualifications Required for the Role

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance 1+ years of industry accounting experience preferred; manufacturing experience preferred Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP Experience with ERP systems required; Oracle Fusion Cloud preferred General Excel skills preferred Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
