Founded in 2002, Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families by improving their financial, emotional, and social well-being. Operation Homefront is sourcing candidates for an Accountant I or II position in San Antonio, TX.
The Accountant I/ II maintains accounting records for assigned departments to include accounts payable, credit card charges and inventory activity, and classifying and entering transactional details in the accounting system. The Accountant I/II prepares monthly bank reconciliations as well as monthly financial reports and collaborates with other organizational departments as needed. This position will assist with annual audit and other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Desired candidates will have:
- Bachelors in Accounting preferred
- 1-3 years’ experience in Accounting or office administration
- Valid driver’s license.
- Acceptable MVR (annual)
- Criminal background check
- MS Office Programs
- Quickbooks
Typical duties include:
- Maintains accounting records for assigned Region and departments to include accounts payable, credit card charges and inventory activity; classifying and entering transactional details in the accounting system.
- Performs monthly closing duties including bank reconciliations, inventory reporting and detailed transaction reports for assigned region and departments.
- Processes CFA requests and check preparation on a rotating basis.
- Processes remote deposit for daily revenue received.
- Responds to inquiries from the assigned region and departments in a timely manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Details:
This will be a hybrid position with the ability to perform duties from a home office if desired; however, event support and periodic office meetings would require some travel to surrounding areas.
General office and sedentary. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Ability to drive a motor vehicle and travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events to include overnight travel at least 40% of the time. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
