Staff Accountant

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Ash Brokerage team in our Downtown Fort Wayne office.

This position is onsite during the onboarding and training period and transitions to a hybrid work schedule, with the opportunity to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

As the Staff Accountant, you’ll assist with critical financial processes that support the evolving needs of our growing business.

To be successful, you will:

• Play a key role in the receivables management process.

• Ensure invoices are issued to appropriate parties accurately and appropriately and track incoming receipts.

• Support month end close processes. 

• Prepare and complete various journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules. 

• Ensure accuracy and timeliness to maintain set standards and deadlines.  

• Maintain and assist with accounting operations and miscellaneous projects and activities.

• Serve as a backup for critical accounting processes as needed.

• Be a change agent for the team, identify and implement process improvements as applicable.

• Support financial and company analysis, annual budget, and forecasting needs.

• Support the transition from Great Plains to Oracle Fusion, making adaptability and project involvement important.

Your experience and skills:

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting and 2+ years of experience OR three to five years of relevant experience are required

• Moderate accounting, US GAAP, and Microsoft Excel experience is required

• Experience with Great Plains and Oracle Fusion would be an asset
