Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for an analytical and tech savvy professional with two to three years of accounting experience who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys applying their detail-oriented skills to support financial accuracy and efficiency. This is a hybrid position based in the Bethesda, MD area, with employer paid parking.
Responsibilities
- Process and manage accounts payable transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and internal policies.
- Assist with monthly close activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Support audit requests and documentation as needed.
- Maintain accuracy of financial data within NetSuite ERP system.
- Build, maintain, and optimize complex Excel spreadsheets to support reconciliations, reporting, and analysis.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Finance and other departments to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field.
- 2–3 years of prior accounting experience, strong understanding of debits and credits, including accounts payable and journal entry preparation.
- Experience working in NetSuite or similar ERP financial system.
- Exposure to 1–2 financial audits as a contributing team member.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively on a hybrid schedule (3 to 4 days per week in our Bethesda office).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
- Prior experience in process improvement initiatives is desirable.
- Experience with sales tax, physical Inventory and Cost of Goods Sold is a plus.
- Must be experienced with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook) and Windows PC.

Compensation Range: The base pay range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 per year. The actual base pay offered is determined by several variables, such as the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, education, location, and market conditions. Base pay is one component of EPS Learning's total compensation package, which also includes a generous benefits package, 401k plan, as well as bonus or commission.
