Position Overview

A growing organization in the renewable energy sector is seeking a Senior Revenue Accounting Associate to support accurate, timely revenue recognition and financial reporting. The role focuses on ASC 606, production tax credits, incentive-based revenue, billing, collections, account reconciliations, and audit readiness. This person will partner across the business, interpret complex contracts, and help strengthen revenue accounting processes in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply ASC 606 revenue recognition guidance and determine the appropriate accounting treatment for contracts.
• Prepare and post revenue-related journal entries and support the monthly close process.
• Reconcile accounts receivable, unbilled revenue, deferred revenue, production tax credits, royalties, and incentive-based revenue and expenses.
• Support recurring and usage-based invoicing to help ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition.
• Generate and analyze accounts receivable aging reports and partner with stakeholders on collection follow-up.
• Prepare quarterly and annual reporting and provide documentation for internal and external audits and reviews.
• Maintain clear process documentation that supports consistency, compliance, and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with internal departments to validate commercial terms, resolve issues, and align expectations.
• Drive deadline-sensitive accruals and reconciliations and contribute to process improvements and special projects.
• Provide day-to-day support to the broader accounting team as needed.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline required.
2. Five or more years of accounting, finance, or related experience preferred, including hands-on account reconciliation work.
3. Working knowledge of revenue accounting and ASC 606; experience in the energy or renewable energy sector is highly preferred.
4. SAP and PCI experience strongly preferred.
5. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
6. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently and collaboratively.
7. Clear written and verbal communication skills, sound business judgment, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to learning.
8. Willingness to travel a few days per year.
9. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
