The Senior Pricing Analyst supports pricing decisions across device and product protection programs by combining internal performance data, market intelligence, customer response data, and financial inputs. This role evaluates how price, product configuration, channel, customer behavior, competitive position, and market conditions influence program performance and turns complex analysis into practical recommendations.
You will build analytical models, design and evaluate structured business tests, develop forecasts and scenarios, and help establish repeatable processes for measuring pricing outcomes. Success requires strong quantitative skills, commercial judgment, curiosity, and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Analyze performance across products, price bands, plan types, clients, markets, channels, and customer groups, including relationships among price, sales volume, attachment or conversion, revenue, margin, and loss costs.
- Identify pricing opportunities, performance gaps, and emerging risks, and develop forecasts, financial scenarios, and sensitivity analyses to estimate the business impact of pricing alternatives.
- Build, validate, document, and maintain statistical models using methods such as regression, forecasting, segmentation, time-series analysis, and other appropriate quantitative techniques.
- Design and evaluate structured pricing tests with defined hypotheses, comparison groups, success measures, sample requirements, decision criteria, and business guardrails.
- Assess whether observed results are statistically reliable and commercially meaningful while accounting for seasonality, promotions, product mix, channel mix, competitor activity, and market conditions.
- Incorporate competitor pricing, product structure, protection-plan coverage, promotional activity, and market changes into pricing analysis and recommendations.
- Partner across Product, Account Management, Finance, Actuarial, Data Science, Engineering, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and client-facing teams to implement and measure pricing decisions.
- Maintain traceable documentation for data sources, model versions, analytical assumptions, test designs, approvals, pricing changes, and outcomes, while supporting continuous improvement in pricing processes and data quality.
- Create dashboards, reports, and executive-ready materials that communicate performance, opportunities, risks, financial impact, assumptions, confidence levels, and recommended actions.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
- Bachelor's degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, data science, finance, business analytics, operations research, engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent relevant professional background where permitted by company policy.
- A minimum of 3 years in pricing analytics, revenue management, financial analysis, business analytics, marketing analytics, customer analytics, applied statistics, or a related quantitative role.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze transactional, sales, product, pricing, customer, or program performance data and work with large datasets from multiple sources.
- Proven track record of developing analytical models and translating quantitative findings into clear business recommendations.
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, including regression, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, sampling, and model evaluation.
- Background in designing or evaluating controlled tests, comparison groups, pilot programs, or phased business changes.
- Proficiency in forecasting, scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, and financial impact assessment.
- Familiarity with SQL and at least one analytical programming language, preferably Python or R, along with advanced Excel capabilities.
- Proficiency with data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
- Master's degree in economics, statistics, data science, business analytics, operations research, finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Prior experience in retail, e-commerce, insurance, warranties, protection plans, subscription products, telecommunications, or another transaction-intensive business.
- Analyzing attachment rates, conversion rates, product demand, customer purchasing behavior, or promotional performance.
- Experimental design, causal inference, quasi-experimental methods, advanced econometrics, optimization models, or decision-support tools.
- Experience with cloud data platforms, data warehouses, Databricks, or similar analytical environments.
- Familiarity with model governance, analytical controls, audit trails, and responsible use of customer- or segment-level data.
- Former experience partnering with client, merchant, account, or product teams to implement and measure pricing changes.
