Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Summary:

Powers Health is seeking an accomplished and strategic Senior Vice President of Finance/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide executive leadership for the financial performance, growth, and long-term sustainability of the health system.

As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Senior Vice President/CFO provides enterprise-wide oversight of the health system’s Chief Financial Officers, Managed Care, Revenue Cycle, and Supply Chain functions. This leader partners closely with the President and CEO, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team to develop and execute financial strategies that strengthen operating performance, optimize revenue, improve cash flow, manage costs, and support the organization’s long-term financial sustainability.

The Senior Vice President/CFO will serve as a strategic business partner across the organization, driving financial transformation, margin improvement, revenue optimization, productivity, and enterprise-wide cost management. This executive will translate complex financial and operational information into actionable strategies while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement throughout the health system.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the financial performance and sustainability of Powers Health.
• Partner with the President and CEO, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team on financial strategy, long-range planning, capital planning, and organizational priorities.
• Provide enterprise-wide leadership and oversight of system CFOs, Managed Care, Revenue Cycle, and Supply Chain.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and long-range financial modeling.
• Develop and monitor financial and operational performance metrics across hospitals, business units, and service lines.
• Lead initiatives to improve operating margin, revenue performance, cash flow, productivity, and cost structure.
• Drive financial transformation, revenue optimization, enterprise cost management, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Provide executive leadership for revenue cycle and managed care strategies, including payer performance, reimbursement, contract negotiations, and revenue optimization.
• Oversee supply chain strategies focused on cost management, vendor relationships, purchasing, utilization, and operational efficiency.
• Evaluate strategic investments, business opportunities, capital expenditures, partnerships, and other initiatives affecting the organization’s financial position.
• Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the President and CEO, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team.
• Build, develop, and lead high-performing finance and functional leadership teams.
• Foster strong cross-functional partnerships and lead effectively through organizational change and competing priorities.
• Ensure appropriate financial controls, accountability, and regulatory and organizational standards are maintained.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience, preferably within a complex healthcare organization.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience directly leading finance and/or functional leaders.
• Previous experience as a CFO, Senior Vice President/VP of Finance, or comparable executive-level financial leader.
• Significant experience leading finance across multiple entities, facilities, hospitals, or business units.
• Demonstrated expertise in healthcare finance, reimbursement, revenue cycle, managed care, and cost management.
• Experience with ERP, EHR-integrated revenue cycle, and supply chain systems, including platforms such as PeopleSoft and Epic.
• Demonstrated success leading financial transformation, margin improvement, revenue optimization, cash flow improvement, productivity, and enterprise cost management initiatives.
• Proven experience working directly with a health system Board of Directors and executive leadership team.
• Strong negotiation skills, particularly involving payer contracts, reimbursement arrangements, and vendor agreements.
• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, analytical, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through change, manage competing priorities, and drive accountability across a complex organization.
