Senior Tax Manager – Review & Client Services
Santa Barbara, CA | In-Office | $185,000 – $240,000 DOE
A growing, integrated financial services firm in Southern California is adding a Senior Tax Manager to their Santa Barbara tax practice. This firm has brought tax consulting and wealth management under one roof — giving clients a more connected approach to their financial lives and giving their tax team broader resources and collaboration opportunities than a traditional standalone CPA firm.
Their Santa Barbara practice has deep roots in the community with long-standing client relationships built over decades. This hire will be a senior member of that team and a key part of its continued growth.
The Role
You’ll be the technical anchor on the tax team — reviewing federal and state returns across individual, trust, estate, partnership, S-Corp, and C-Corp filings, mentoring developing staff, and maintaining direct relationships with an established client base. You’ll work closely with the Director of Tax Consulting and collaborate with the wealth management side of the firm when clients benefit from that connection.
This is a fully in-office position in Santa Barbara. They’re looking for someone who wants to be present and embedded in the team — not a remote or hybrid arrangement.
What They’re Looking For
- Active CPA license
- 12+ years of public accounting and tax experience with meaningful review and client service responsibility
- Strong technical depth across individual, trust, estate, and entity taxation
- Experience mentoring junior tax staff
- Strong client communication skills and a track record of long-term client relationships
- CCH Axcess Tax experience preferred
- Local to Santa Barbara or genuinely open to being in-office daily
