With offices throughout the United States and private equity backing, Prosperity is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our growing Chicago office.
This role combines oversight and review of sophisticated tax compliance and tax planning engagements with client advisory, relationship leadership, and team development. You will work directly with business owners, executives, high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, and family office clients while helping shape the future of our office.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, review, and delivery of complex tax compliance engagements, including business, individual, trust, estate, gift, flow-through entity, and multi-state tax returns.
- Review complex tax returns and workpapers prepared by the tax team, provide technical guidance, and ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality delivery.
- Advise clients on tax planning, business succession planning, estate planning, trust planning, wealth transfer strategies, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and entity planning.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners, executives, high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational families, and family office clients.
- Partner with firm and office leadership to transition, retain, and expand key client relationships.
- Mentor and develop tax professionals while providing technical leadership on complex engagements.
- Contribute to business development, client expansion, and office growth initiatives.
- Champion AI and technology solutions that improve efficiency and enhance the client experience.
Qualifications:
- Active CPA license and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Master's in Taxation (MST) or similar advanced degree preferred;
- 10+ years of progressive public accounting experience within a regional, national, or multinational CPA firm.
- Deep technical knowledge of federal, state, and local taxation, including flow-through entities and multi-state tax matters.
- Significant experience reviewing complex tax returns and leading tax compliance engagements for businesses, high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and estates.
- Experience advising clients on estate planning, business succession, acquisitions, restructurings, entity planning, and other advanced tax matters.
- Proven ability to build trusted client relationships and explain complex technical matters clearly.
- Demonstrated success mentoring, coaching, and developing tax professionals.
- Ability to work from the Chicago office on a hybrid schedule.

Annual Salary Range
