What You’ll Do
As a Senior Tax Manager, you will play a key leadership role responsible for directing all facets of the tax function, including compliance, reporting, planning, and strategic guidance, while leading complex client engagements and supporting the oversight of comprehensive tax operations to ensure technical excellence and deliver high-value advisory services. In this role, you will drive business growth by strengthening client relationships, optimizing tax strategies, and providing expert leadership to a diverse team of tax professionals, while serving as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives and high-impact clients, leveraging your deep technical expertise and strong management capabilities.

Strategic Leadership & Management
- Provide strategic direction for the tax function or practice area, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of tax professionals, including Senior Tax Associates and staff, with oversight of performance management, resource planning, and talent retention.
- Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented environment that prioritizes technical excellence and continuous professional development.
Technical Expertise & Compliance
- Serve as a final reviewer and subject matter expert for highly complex federal, state, local, and international tax filings across corporate, partnership, and individual entities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations, GAAP/IFRS standards, and internal control requirements.
- Stay current on evolving tax laws and regulatory changes, providing guidance to ensure accurate application across engagements.
Tax Planning & Advisory
- Develop and implement advanced tax strategies designed to minimize liabilities and enhance overall tax efficiency.
- Provide high-level advisory services on complex transactions, restructurings, regulatory changes, and key business initiatives.
- Partner with senior leadership and clients to deliver insights that inform strategic decision-making.
Audit Management & Controversy
- Lead federal and state tax audits, serving as the primary liaison with taxing authorities, including the IRS and state agencies.
- Defend tax positions, negotiate resolutions, and guide stakeholders through audit and controversy processes.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the tax practice.
- Lead proposal development, client presentations, and efforts to expand existing relationships.
- Strengthen the firm’s market presence by building trust and demonstrating deep technical expertise with prospective and current clients.
Tax Provision Oversight (Corporate)
- Oversee quarterly and annual tax provision processes in accordance with ASC 740.
- Ensure accurate reporting, documentation, and disclosure of income taxes within financial statements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance and accounting teams to support audit requirements and close financial timelines.
What You’ll Bring
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
- Master’s degree in Taxation (MTax) or related field preferred
Experience
- 7–10+ years of progressive tax experience, including leadership or management responsibilities
- Prior experience in public accounting or within the tax function of a multinational organization strongly preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in business tax and accounting across multiple entity types, including S corporations, partnerships, and C corporations
Technical Skills
- Deep and current knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements
- Proficiency with enterprise-level tax technologies such as Thompson Reuters, UltraTax
- , and advanced data analysis tools

- Base salary of $130,000-$150,000 plus discretionary bonus (exact base salary amount will be dependent on experience)
