Senior Staff Accountant

Location: Downtown Indianapolis
$90-100K
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support the organization's accounting operations and financial reporting. This role is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing month-end close activities, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze financial data and investigate account variances.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit support.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Partner with internal departments to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
• Support special projects and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Experience in a professional services environment.
• Experience with month-end close, financial analysis, and audit preparation.
