Senior Property Accountant

Job Description

One of our clients is looking to hire a Senior Property Accountant in Atlanta, GA. This is a commercial real estate role where you’ll own full-cycle accounting for your own portfolio of properties. You’ll be the main accounting contact for property managers, asset managers, and ownership groups, and you’ll handle everything from the monthly close to CAM recs to client reporting. It’s a hybrid setup with six work-from-home days a month, and you’ll report to the Controller. Responsibilities:

• Run full-cycle accounting and the monthly close for a portfolio of commercial properties, including financial statements, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis
• Prepare owner, lender, and client reporting packages and serve as the go-to accounting contact for property management and ownership teams
• Prepare CAM, real estate tax, and insurance recoveries, and support budgets, forecasts, sales and use tax filings, 1099s, and audits
• Manage property cash, owner distributions, and new property onboarding, and support process improvements and junior accountants

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4+ years of commercial real estate or property accounting experience (required)
• Hands-on experience with CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, budgeting, and property-level reporting
• Strong Excel and property management software skills, with a CPA or progress toward one a plus
