Position Summary
Roswell Marine is seeking an ambitious and results-driven Senior Procurement Specialist who wants to build a career while helping transform a growing manufacturing company.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this position will have ownership of supplier relationships, purchasing strategy, cost-reduction initiatives, and material availability. Senior Procurement Specialist will negotiate aggressively but professionally, develop long-term supplier partnerships, reduce material costs, and ensure the materials needed to support production are available when required. This position does not initially have direct reports; however, it offers significant professional growth and the potential to supervise buyers or purchasing specialists as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, freight costs, and long-term supplier agreements.
- Drive continuous material cost savings through competitive bidding, strategic sourcing, and supplier negotiations.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, value engineering, and supplier consolidation.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, including quality, delivery, responsiveness, and pricing.
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Inventory Control, and Finance to support manufacturing operations.
- Ensure materials are available to support production schedules while minimizing excess inventory investment.
- Analyze purchasing trends and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Resolve supplier issues promptly while maintaining professional business relationships.
- Support new product launches by identifying qualified suppliers and obtaining competitive quotations.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records in NetSuite and other company systems.
- Continuously improve purchasing processes and contribute to Roswell Marine’s Lean manufacturing culture.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Three to seven years of purchasing, procurement, or strategic sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in marine, metal fabrication, automotive, aerospace, industrial, or a similar manufacturing industry preferred.
- Experience using ERP systems required; NetSuite experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with bills of materials and collaborating with engineering and production teams.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This position works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with suppliers, Engineering, Production, Inventory Control, and Finance.
The employee must be able to use computers and standard office equipment and perform the light lifting and other physical activities necessary to complete the essential functions of the position. Safety glasses and enclosed, non-slip shoes must be worn at all times while in production areas.
