Job Description
The Global Business Process Owner serves as the business expert for a suite of interrelated processes within the designated domain, enabled by SAP S/4HANA, BTP applications, and critical boundary systems. This role is responsible for defining, optimizing, and standardizing global processes to ensure effective, compliant, and value-driven technology utilization. The Global Process Owner plays a key role in aligning business strategy with ERP capabilities and ensuring robust documentation and regulatory compliance.
This role will be responsible for the design, delivery and ownership related to the patient-based accounting process for cell therapy. This role will sit in Santa Monica, CA at Kite HQ.
Responsibilities:
Own process definition, solution assessment, and business case development for ERP-related changes related to manufacturing cost/project accounting for cell therapy.
Serve as the single point of contact for technology requests within the assigned process area.
Drive global standardization and harmonization of business processes; assess and approve localization needs.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., SoX, GxP, GAMP) and internal quality standards.
Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to identify unmet needs and future data/technology requirements.
Maintain deep knowledge of SAP functional and product roadmaps, act as the internal subject matter expert.
Manage stakeholder engagement throughout ERP design, implementation, and maturity phases.
Monitor user adoption and process effectiveness; gather feedback and drive continuous improvement.
Identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities using Lean, Six Sigma, or other OE methodologies.
Own and approve Functional Design Specifications and boundary application integration requirements.
Drive standardization and the adoption of best practices
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and Eight Years’ Experience
OR
Masters' Degree and Six Years’ Experience
OR
Ph.D.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
8+ years of experience in business process management, ERP implementation, or operations leadership.
4+ years of hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA or equivalent ERP systems as a super user.
Experience working in a regulated industry, preferably pharmaceuticals or life sciences.
Skilled in defining, mapping, and improving business processes with a focus on risk mitigation, standardization, and compliance.
Deep understanding of SAP S/4HANA for
for cost accounting and/or project accounting in the manufacturing space and related boundary applications.
Familiarity with IT service models, demand intake, change control, and delivery frameworks—preferably in a pharmaceutical environment.
Proven ability to collaborate with business leaders, IT, and cross-functional teams to develop compelling business cases and drive alignment.
Ability to champion change, communicate vision, and manage resistance effectively.
Comfortable operating in a complex, matrixed organizational structure.
Compliance & Quality Focus: Ensures process design aligns with regulatory and internal standards.
Continuous Improvement: Strong problem-solving skills and experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
Certification in SAP, Lean Six Sigma, or Business Process Management.
Experience participating in global transformation initiatives in a matrixed organization.
Strong understanding of SoX and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
Demonstrated success in driving cross-functional alignment and process standardization.
Experience collaborating with virtual or remote teams
Willingness to travel
